The
pavilion features the broad range of dishes and tastes
possible using tomatoes in the recipe and explains the
role in a healthy diet of various key nutrients found
naturally in tomatoes.

Special Theme Pavilions
A. Savor the
Flavors of Penghu: Experience the seasonings and distinctive
seafood dishes of this Taiwan Straits island group.
B. Taitung Regional Cuisine: Featured include foods
and flavors from this southeastern Taiwan town from
different seasons of the year and an exhibition of local
products. A great introduction to the cuisine and recreation
possibilities in this corner of Taiwan.

Special Exhibition: The Regional Style of Jiangsu-Zhejiang
Master chefs
prepare traditional favorites and new dishes from this
region, which encompasses the cities of Hangzhou, Suzhou,
and Yangzhou in central China.

Interactive Hall
A. Cooking with
Celebrities: Household cooks and those with home cooking
ambitions are welcome to join hands-on cooking seminars
taught by some of Taiwan's best known chefs. Festival
visitors will be invited to taste and rate the results
of participant efforts. Registration is on a first come,
first served basis.
B. Preparing Great Dishes: Top restaurant chefs will
teach visitors how to create traditional Chinese appetizers
such as kimchi, chilled spiced vegetables, and pickled
vegetables. Registration is on a first come, first served
basis.

Competitions
A.
International: Open to chefs from around the world who
specialize in Chinese cuisine.
B. Domestic
1) Group: Open to home cooking clubs, cultural clubs,
and food and beverage clubs.
2) School: Open to students registered as food and beverage-related
majors.

Focus Exhibitions
A. International
Flavors: Travel and trade promotion offices from various
countries, as well as selected international hotels,
have been invited to display enticing samples of cuisine
and culture from near and far.
B. The Culture of Taiwan's Food: Various dishes are
explained in terms of their spiritual, practical, and
ceremonial significance to traditional life in Taiwan.
C. Traditional Food and Wine Vessels: This display of
traditional containers explains to visitors the traditional
importance of food and beverage packaging and reminds
us of our roots.

Gourmet Avenue
Delectables
from across China are available for sampling and purchase
in three different Gourmet Avenue neighborhoods - Traditional
Foods, Snacks, and Sweets. You will also find retailers
here offering food and beverage related books and periodicals.
